Strangeness

Summary:
Life in Sunnydale seen through Buffy's POV

Chapter 1

Buffy leaned against Angel, smiling against his chest. They were dancing at the Bronze, enjoying his return visit to Sunnydale. He had been gone for six months, yet it felt like an eternity since she had been in his embrace. She heard his voice in her ear and pulled back, looking deep into his chocolate brown eyes. He was singing along with the song, telling of his never ending love for her. She took a deep breath, wondering how she could get so lucky.

She was about to tell him that she loved him, when she heard a scream for help. She glanced over and saw a woman pushing a guy off of her. The woman's wet t-shirt clung to her skin as she slapped the man. "You jerk!" she screamed.

Buffy shared a smile with Angel. She was use to running to defend the innocent that she had forgotten about regular lover's quarrels. She felt Angel move his head down, capturing her lips.

"Isn't this a touching moment" the voice said sarcastically.

Buffy looked at Spike, frowning. "What do you want?"

Spike laughed, "The watcher told me to fetch you. Seems some 'big evil' is happening."

Buffy sighed, giving Angel an apologetic look. "We'll finish this later."

Spike rolled his eyes as he followed them to the watcher's house.

**************

"What?!" Buffy screamed out as she walked into the room.

She watched as Anya and Giles broke apart, looking at her guiltily.

"Buffy. You're here." Giles said, stuttering.

Spike smirked as he moved into the kitchen. He paused by a mirror, giving a pantomime of fluffing his hair. He opened the fridge, moving the cherry flavored jello to get to his blood. He got a mug and filled it with blood before settling down to enjoy the shouting.

"Ok...explain to me again why you were kissing Giles" Buffy said, glaring at Anya.

"Because...he's attractive. And Xander does not fulfill all of my needs. And we ran out of birth control so Xander had to go to the store and I was horny! So when Xander came back, he was weird. I decided to just do it with Giles since Xander wasn't interested." Anya finished.

Before Buffy could react, the bathroom door opened. Xander wandered out in a G-string, shaving cream on his chest. "G-man...you got a razor?"

"In the cabinet" Giles muttered.

"Cool" Xander went back into the bathroom.

Buffy leaned against Angel. "What the fuck is going on?"

"That's what we are trying to find out" Giles said. "Xander seems to be possessed or something."

"And you ask why I left Sunnydale?" Angel said softly in Buffy's ear. She had to laugh.

"What? And miss all this excitement?" She said, wide eyed.

The door opened and Willow came in carrying a sack, "Hey Buffy. Angel. Did you see Xander? I got the supplies we needed, Giles."

She sat on the sofa beside Spike, putting the bag on the table. She pulled out vanilla scented candles, a jar of honey, and a book. Buffy leaned closer to read the title.

"A book of poems?" she asked, confused.

Willow blushed, "That one is mine."

Spike moved closer to the witch, enjoying the heat she was giving off. He felt her touch his knee and froze. He felt as though he were a crayon left outside in the sun. He was melting from her touch. He moved even closer, wanting nothing more than to push the items of the table and take her right there in front of them all.

Willow glanced at Spike, confusion on her face. She moved away, wondering why he was getting so close. Not that she minded that, but it wasn't the time or place for her to dwell on her twisted fantasies about the blonde vampire. Now was the time to deal with whatever had Xander acting so strange.

Buffy smiled as she watched Spike and Willow. It was damn time those two realized their attraction. It had taken them long enough. She moved back against Angel, his arms around her. She heard Xander singing some disco song in the bathroom as Willow began to chant. This was the life. This was her life. She smiled. She wouldn't have it any other way.
