Naughty Whispers

Summary:
Dark forces are at play in bringing Willow and Spike together

Chapter 1

"He's still hunting me" Buffy whined.

"I'm sure he'll either give up or you can kill him."

"Willow. I love him. He may be evil, but he still has Angel's face. I can't kill him."

"Buffy. He tried to kill me." Willow said staring at her friend. "Would you be able to kill him if he tried again?"

"He won't. You're my friend Wills. I love you. I'm sure I'd be able to hurt him enough so that you could get away."

"You wouldn't kill him." Willow realized. "That's....that's just bad, Buffy."

"I'm sorry."

"No. I need to go. Don't walk me. You wouldn't be able to stop him anyway" she muttered.

Willow left the Bronze, grabbing the stake that was in her pocket. She looked around as she walked. Things were much more dangerous around Sunnydale now. Angelus and Spike together were a force that scared even her. She now knew that Buffy would be no help. She felt an intense hatred for her friend's lack of conviction. She was still mad about finding out about Xander and Cordelia. Now, Buffy was being a stupid bitch.

"I'm sorry Miss" a voice spoke behind her.

Willow stopped, her hand again clenching around the stake in her pocket. She turned and saw a small, old man. His hands were in his pockets.

"Yes?"

"Did you drop that?" he asked, motioning to a piece of jewelry. Willow bent down and looked at the pretty jewel. It was an emerald hanging from a silver chain. It called to her.

"It's not mine." she said softly.

"It matches your eyes. Why don't you keep it?" he suggested in a frail voice.

"I couldn't. Someone will be looking for it."

"Nonsense. Take it. Wear it. It's lovely. You look like you could use some luck."

Willow looked at him. "I think I will." she stood and slipped the jewel into her pocket.

"Good choice my dear." the man watched the small redhead walk off. He removed his hand from his pocket and smiled evilly. The cloven hoof pushed the hat off his head. His true face shown through. "Or should I say, Mistress" His laughter echoed through the darkened streets of Sunnydale as he disappeared in a cloud of smoke.

Willow put her new necklace on and watched the way the emerald sparkled in the sun light. She felt at peace as it touched her bare skin, hanging right between her breasts. She slipped a baggy sweater on, covering the jewel. She pulled on her jeans, her socks and her shoes. She brushed her hair and grabbed her school books.

She got to the corner and stood waiting for Xander. He was late. She hated waiting for him. //He's probably with that bitch// a dark voice whispered in her mind.

She frowned wondering where that thought had come from.

//Just leave without him. He doesn't care anyway. None of them care about you. Why do you care about them?//

{They're my friends}

//Are they?//

She shook her head, trying to get rid of that knowing whisper.

"Hey Wills. Sorry I'm late. The alarm didn't go off" Xander ran over to her, breathing heavy. "Let's go."

Willow smiled at her old friend. {See? It was his alarm}

//Ha. He was with her all night. That's why he wouldn't wake up//

Willow glanced at Xander and then stared straight ahead. She didn't like the thoughts that she was having. They were so mean. What was happening to her?

Underneath her sweater, the emerald glowed softly.

* * * * *

Willow sighed as Giles ordered her to do more research on Angelus. She didn't know why he couldn't accept Jenny's apology and have her help. No, she always had to do the research.

//Tell him to fuck off. He's a smart man. He can do his own research//

Willow turned the computer on and waited for it to boot. {I can't do that. They need me. If I don't help, they'll hate me}

//I thought they were your friends. What should it matter if you help or not? If I were you, I'd tell them all where to go//

{And then what?}

//Spike//

Willow felt her face flushing as her most private fantasy came forth. {No. He's an evil man. I can't find him}

//You like him. You think he's sexy. Don't deny your true desires. You're young. How is he evil? Your silly friend still wants Angelus. He is the evil one. He tried to kill you. What has Spike done?//

{Spike tried to kill Buffy and Angel. Besides, he's Spike. I'm just Willow. No.}

//Good for Spike. He knew what he wanted and wasn't afraid to take it. You could learn from him//

Willow began her search for what Giles wanted. She tried to ignore the traitorous whispers that filled her mind. She felt her eyes growing heavy. She leaned forward against the desk and fell into a deep trance.

She was at the Bronze. Every one was watching her. She glanced down and saw that she was wearing a skirt that was shorter what Buffy wore. A tight green top barely covered her breasts. She heard the music and began to dance, her eyes darting around for her lover. She saw him stalking around the edge of the floor, his blue eyes hotly caressing her body. She smiled and beckoned to him, her body moving sensually. He let his duster drop from his shoulders as he walked towards her. Taking her into his arms, he shoved her hard against the wall. She felt his hands push her skirt up. Her eyes wandered around the crowd that was watching with lust. She felt him enter her savagely. She wrapped her legs around his waist, her voice sighing against his neck. He pounded into her relentlessly. The air was filled with her moans and pleas. She felt herself violently cum, her blunt teeth biting into his neck as he bit into hers. His release flooded her.

Willow sat up suddenly, her chair moving from the desk. Her face was flushed and she couldn't breathe. She looked around dazedly. She turned the computer off, grabbed her books, and ran out of the library. The image of Spike in her mind.

//You could have that...Give in to the dark Willow. It is much more fun//

She didn't answer the mocking whisper as she ran from the school. It had seemed so real.

Across Town

Spike sat up, his game face on. He glanced around the room, seeing that he was still in his own bed. The slayer's pet. Him. That silly club. His hard cock throbbed between his legs. Laying down, he closed his eyes letting his hand drift down to rub his erection. //You want her. You want to make her yours as Dru is Angelus's. Take what you want Spike. Don't be weak. Make her yours.//

Spike came with a moan, his seed covering his hand. He smiled evilly. Take what you want.....

* * * * *

"What's wrong Willow?"

"Nothing" Willow said, smiling slightly.

Buffy exchanged a look with the others.

"Please. You look like you haven't slept in a week." Cordelia said looking at the circles under the girl's eyes.

"Just can't sleep. Nightmares" Willow said softly.

Giles noticed her hand rubbing a pendant hanging from her neck.

"What is that?" he asked curiously.

"Just a necklace. Something I found." she said.

//Don't let him see it. He'll try to take it away. He doesn't care about you. No one cares about you. You should kill them//

{Leave me alone. Please, just leave me alone.}

She felt the images attack her mind and grimaced. It was all of her friends dying. She was standing over them watching and laughing. Others were her and Spike. She felt happiness but it slowly drifted into pure evil. She had become evil. She tried to block the images of what she had become in her mind. She stood, the pendant hanging down. It glistened in the lights of the library. Giles glanced at it and tried to remember where he had seen something similar. "I have to go" she said, grabbing her books. "I have a test."

They watched her leave. Buffy looked at Giles and saw the puzzled look on his face.

"What is going on?"

"That pendant. I've seen it somewhere before...." he trailed off as he stood. "I'll find it. Something is wrong with her."

Spike moved back into the stacks. He had been watching his redhead since that dream a week before. He had seen the changes in her and didn't like them. He was worried. He hated having that human emotion. He'd find her and keep her safe. He'd make it all better.

In a cave, a demon sat and watched what was happening in her mind. She was close. So close. Soon, she would be changed. He would be free to talk beside his mistress. To do her evil bidding. He had chosen correctly.

* * * * *

Willow felt someone touch her shoulder. She whirled around, her eyes widening when she saw Spike. Spike standing. No wheelchair in sight.

"You can walk" she said softly.

He smiled and put his cold finger against her lips. "Sshh...our secret."

She felt heat rush through her at his touch. Her body was on fire. After all the dreams of him, she couldn't distinguish between reality and fantasy. "What are you doing here?"

"Taking what I want" he said as he claimed her lips.

The kiss deepened as the lust flared. The emerald glowed softly between the soon to be lovers.

* * * * *

The demon smiled. It was working. With the vampire's unknowing help, she would soon fall. She would release him. He began to whisper in her ear.

* * * * *

//Make him yours. Take him now. He wants you.//

{Go away. Don't ruin this}

//Fuck him Willow. Give in to your fantasies....your secret desires. You know you want to....//

Willow felt her control slipping. She brought Spike closer to her, her hands running over his hard chest. It wasn't a dream. She felt his erection against her stomach. He wanted her. * * * * *

"Good god. We have to find Willow."

"Huh?" several voices spoke.

Giles came in and sat down. He laid a thick, dusty book on the table. "The pendant. Willow is in danger. We have to help her."

He showed them the picture he had found.

"What language is that?" Cordelia asked. "Nice design."

"It's Ancient Arabic." Giles said, sighing.

"What is it? What's after Willow?" Buffy demanded.

Giles looked at them. They had to know what they would be facing. He began to tell them.

Giles took his glasses off, trying to rub away the words that he had read. He heard Cordelia clear her throat expectantly.

He looked at them, seated around the table. Their eyes waiting for the answer to what was wrong with their friend.

"It is an amulet that invokes a shaitan."

"A whatan?" Xander asked.

"A shaitan. You've all heard of jinn, genies. The shaitan is an evil spirit, an infidel class of jinn."

"An evil genie?" Buffy repeated, not believing him.

"Not a genie. A jinn. Shaitans have two purposes. One, they bring disease to humans. Two, they turn the innocent evil. It depends on the shaitan which path he or she chooses. It appears that Willow was discovered by one. She had to willingly accept the amulet for it to work."

"She didn't know what it meant." Buffy protested.

"I'm sure she didn't have any idea. Shaitans are not know for their honesty."

"What is it doing to her?" Cordelia asked.

"It will tempt her. Incessant whispering trying to bring her to evil. It will use all of her darkest thoughts against her. The nightmares are a form of torture to wear her down."

"What does it want her for?" Jenny asked.

"If she gives in to the Shaitan and chooses to become evil, it will free him from his curse. He will do her evil bidding as a personal demon to her and her alone. The shaitan choose their masters and mistresses carefully. The more innocent, the greater evil they will bring."

"Willow won't turn evil." Buffy said forcefully.

"She might not have a choice. You've seen how she has become. It is slowly driving her insane with the whispers. If she does not give in, she will die from her own hand."

"No" Xander said. "No. We have to stop it. What can we do?"

"The amulet. She has to willingly take it off and demolish it. If she does that, the shaitan will be cast into the netherworld."

"That's easy. We'll tell her."

"You don't understand. You've seen how she clutches to it. He has made her depend on it. She will feel that she will lose all control if she parts with it. It is not going to be simple. I honestly hope we have enough time to convince her."

"This thing....it will know what we're trying to do?" Jenny asked.

"Yes. It will whisper lies in her mind as we try to convince her of the truth."

"Good lord....I hate this town" Buffy said, kicking the table hard.

* * * * *

Willow looked around the room, her eyes darting over everything.

"You'll be safe here" Spike said, his voice soft.

"Will I?" Willow asked, her eyes tired.

"What is going on with you, pet?" Spike asked, sitting on the bed.

She shrugged. "Who knows? I've been having these terrible nightmares. I can't sleep anymore. I haven't slept in a few days. There is all this blood...and death. I've caused it all. I hate what I am in those dreams."

"It's just dreams" he pointed out.

She shook her head. "No. There is someone inside my head." she looked into his eyes. "He tells me all these terrible things. Most of them are lies, but I'm beginning not to remember what the truth is. I don't want to be that evil person." she felt tears sliding down her cheeks.

He cursed himself for the emotion the girl brought out in him. He moved forward, pulling her tightly to him. "You could never be evil, pet. It isn't in your soul."

Willow listened to his soothing words, felt his hands rubbing slowly down her back. "If it doesn't stop....I may go crazy."

"We'll find a way. I don't want my girl to be insane. Been there, done that."

Willow pulled away and looked into his eyes. "Why are you helping me? Being nice..."

"I'm not nice luv. Never forget that." he ran his thumb over her tear stained face. "I feel connected to you, somehow. I want you. Your soul calls me."

"You want me?" she repeated softly, not taking her eyes from his.

He smiled. "Been following you for a week now luv. You haunt me. Let's see if you can get some sleep, ok? You look dead tired."

Willow laid down, his arms going around her. If you had told her two weeks ago that she would be laying in Spike's bed, seeking comfort in his embrace, she would have laughed. Now, it didn't seem funny. It felt right. She closed her eyes and tried to sleep.

* * * * *

"She's not home." Buffy said, slamming the phone down.

"What if someone decided to make her a snack?" Cordelia said. "What? It's night in Sunnydale. You act as though vampires don't exist."

"No..." Buffy said softly. "Angelus."

"Good lord. That's all we need." Giles said.

Buffy reached for a stake. She took a deep breath. "I'll find her. If I have to, I'll stake that bastard. I will not lose Willow."

"Can you do it?" Jenny asked softly.

Buffy looked at her, a determined look in her eyes. "Yes. For Willow. I didn't think I could, but now I know. Angelus will die if he doesn't hand her over."

The others watched her leave. "Xander, you and Cordelia go with her. She may need the help."

"I'm sorry" Jenny said softly.

"The only thing that matters right now is getting Willow back, unharmed" Giles said, avoiding her gaze.

* * * * *

Angelus leaned against the crypt, a smirk on his face.

"Hello lover" he said smiling.

"Where is she?" Buffy demanded, ignoring his similarities to Angel.

"Who?" Angelus asked, honestly perplexed.

Buffy kicked him suddenly, sending him to the ground. He stood up, his game face on.

"So, little girl wants to play." he said roughly.

"Where. Is. Willow?" Buffy asked, holding the stake in her hands.

"The redhead? I haven't seen the hacker in days. Why?"

"She's missing. There is a demon. Oh, you don't care. I thought you might have taken her for revenge." Buffy grimaced and turned away from him.

"A demon is after Red?" Angelus repeated, falling in step beside her.

"Yes. If I don't find her, he'll either drive her insane until she frees him or until she kills herself. I was planning on killing you if you had her."

"I don't. I'll find her though. I have plans for Red. I don't want anyone to mess them up."

Buffy turned on him, her eyes on fire. "You aren't going to kill her. I'll kill you first."

He walked away laughing. "There are so many more fun things than death Lover. Red turns me on. Trust me, I won't be killing her."

Buffy felt jealousy spread through her. He wanted Willow? Shaking herself, she realized that it didn't matter. Willow was still missing. She had to find her friend.

* * * * *

"Whas wrong Peaches?" Spike asked, rolling his chair into the living room.

Angelus glared at him. "The hacker is gone. Some demon is trying to kill her or something. The slayer thinks I have her."

"She's in danger?" Spike asked, trying to keep his voice normal.

"Yes. I didn't ask for details Roller Boy. Why the interest?"

"Just curious. Never had anything against the chit. Seemed nice enough."

Angelus smiled evilly. "Spike's got a crush. Spike's got a crush." he taunted his childe. Suddenly, he got serious. "I never had anything against her either. Only one that accepted Soul Boy without batting an eye. I don't want some damn demon to drive her insane or to suicide."

"Suicide!" Spike yelled. "Good grief. What the hell is after her?"

Angelus looked at Spike a moment. He sniffed the air. "You've been with her. I smell her on you."

Spike ignored him. "Spike, if you know where she is, we need to get her to the slayer."

"Like you'd help her. You just want to kill her for revenge against the bimbo."

"As much as it pains me to admit, I have no real intention of killing her. I enjoy scaring her....it's just such a turn on. Death was never an issue. Where is she?"

Spike looked at his sire. "I won't lose her. She's mine."

"As your sire, I demand to know where she is."

"She's mine" Spike repeated.

Angelus sighed loudly for effect, "Fine. She's yours. IF the demon doesn't get her, I'll allow your claim...IF she's willing. Now, we need to get her to the watcher."

"She'll be willing" Spike said softly. "On your honor?"

"Damn it you bleach blond idiot, where is the girl?" Seeing Spike's determination, he rolled his eyes. "On. My. Honor." he hissed out.

Spike nodded. "She's upstairs, in my room."

Angelus looked at his childe then laughed. "Fuck, she was here all along."

"We need to get her to the watcher" Spike said, standing. He ignored Angelus's look of outrage as he ran up the stairs, his sire close behind.

* * * * *

"What the..." Giles trailed off as the library doors opened. A blond vampire came rushing in carrying Willow.

"Spike. Angelus. What the fuck?" Buffy said standing. Spike glared at her. "What is after her?" he demanded, laying Willow on the table. She moaned loudly and thrashed around, kicking out. He pulled her close to him, his touch calming her down.

"A shaitan." Giles said. "She has to break the amulet to kill the spell."

"The emerald?" Spike asked.

Angelus moved behind his childe, his hands pushing the hair out of Willow's face. "When we got upstairs, she was using a pair of scissors....cutting her head."

They saw the small marks that she had made above her ear.

Spike leaned over and soothed her.

//They want you to die. Give yourself to me. I'll end the pain. We will kill them all.//

"Leave me alone!" Willow shouted, holding her head. "He won't stop. The whispers."

"Pet, you have to break the jewel. He'll go away."

"No. It's the only thing that makes him stop." Willow protested, her eyes wide with panic.

"He's made you dependant on it. You have to destroy it before he destroys you." Giles said softly.

"Spike" she screamed as the images flooded her mind. He held on to her tightly. "Make it go away." The others watched as Spike soothed her. His words calm and quiet. They couldn't make out what he was saying, but it seemed to satisfy Willow. //He wants to destroy you too. He only wants Drusilla. Why would he want you? You're weak. Become strong for him. Kill them all. Join me.// "NO!" Willow screamed before images worse than the ones before came to her. She vaulted off the table, cowering in a corner by the bookcase. She held her ears and began humming to block out the voice.

"Help her damn it" Spike demanded of the others.

"We can't help her" Buffy said, falling into the chair.

"She has to make the choice" Jenny said quietly.

Angelus moved toward the girl. Spike stopped him with a growl. "I'll do it" Spike said, "You stay away from her."

Spike moved forward, kneeling before her. He took her chin in his hand, looking her straight in the eye. "Luv, you have to do this. We can't be together if you don't."

"Don't want me...want Dru" she said in between sobs and gasps.

He took her in his arms and began to rock. "I've wanted only since Halloween. So beautiful. That spirit. I wanted to possess it. I planned to take before the accident. The damn Judge. Big blue smurf. Then Daddy came back. I had to be content to watch you. Do you know how angry I was when he tried to kill you?"

Willow had stopped, his soft words calming her. She looked into his eyes. "You want me?" she said softly.

"Ironic isn't it luv?" he said.

"We can be together?"

"Do you want that?"

She smiled for the first time in days. "Since you tried to kill Buffy the first time."

He laughed as the slayer gasped in outrage. He kept her eyes on his.

"What are you going to do about it pet?"

She remembered the first whispers. "I'm going to take what I want" she said softly, as she reached to unlatch the chain.

In a cave, the demon screamed, "Nooooo"

Willow ripped the chain from her neck. She stood up with help from Spike. She moved to the table, avoiding looking at the emerald. She laid it down and sighed.

"'Give me something" she said to Spike.

He reached for a thick book. "Wait, that won't work. Don't look into it pet. I'll find something." He glanced at Giles expectantly. Sighing loudly as the watcher just sat there, he reached down and unfastened his boot.

"Here you go luv."

She took his boot smiling slightly. She gathered up all her anger and hit the amulet hard. Pieces shattered across the table. She hit it again and again until Spike took her into his arms.

"It's broken pet." he said softly, taking the boot away from her. He slipped it back on.

She looked at him. "The whispers have stopped."

Spike leaned forward and caught her mouth with his. She moaned slightly as she leaned into him, her hands going around his waist, pulling him closer.

Angelus noticed Buffy squirming as the kiss intensified. A look of outrage on her face. He moved forward, tapping Willow on the shoulder.

She reluctantly pulled away from Spike and faced Angelus. He smiled at her and kissed her chastely on the cheek.

"Welcome to the family Red" he said, shooting a triumphant glare at the slayer.

Spike's arms went around Willow as he rolled his eyes at his sire.

"You'll get used to him luv. Big show off. He's harmless though."

Angelus shot him a glare as Willow laughed.

"Excuse me a moment" Giles said, "Willow, are you ok?"

She smiled. "Very much so. Spike saved me."

"Yes, it does appear that he did."

"I can't kill him" Buffy said sulking.

"Touch him and die" Willow said, facing her friend.

Buffy shrugged. "It was worth a try. He stays out of my way, I keep the stakes to myself."

"Thank you Buffy" Willow said softly.

"Anything for you Wills."

"Come on pet. Let's go."

"As always, a delight." Angelus said smirking as he left the library.

Willow said good bye to everyone as she and Spike left, his arm around her. The only voice whispering to her now was his.
