Willow walked into her flat. She had just left her last class. She was taking summer courses, mostly because she really didn't want to go back to Sunnydale for the summer. The smell of chocolate assaulted her senses. Her stomach began to rumble. She went to the kitchen and smiled.
"A cake?"
Spike whirled around. "You're early luv." he scolded good naturedly.
"For me?"
"Yes. To celebrate your A that I'm sure you made today."
Willow smiled. Spike had been with her since March. She had still not been able to locate Drusilla. The vampire had herself very well hid. Willow and Spike had become great friends. Often, when she returned home, he would have dinner waiting. He kept the apartment clean and tidy. He also walked her everywhere at night. He even waited outside of the council while she did her work. Everyone there was amazed to see William the Bloody aka Spike patiently waiting for the little slip of a redhead nightly.
Willow knew that she had fallen in love with him. Personally, she hoped she never found Dru. She had told Thack about her feelings the other night. He hadn't been surprised. He told her that Spike felt the same way. She had laughed. He had insisted that the vampire would not be acting the way he was if there wasn't love. She told him that she and Spike were just good friends. Drusilla was the one he wanted. Not shy little Willow. Thack had just shaken his head and told her that she'd find out soon enough that he was right. She watched as Spike finished making the icing.
(I'm a bloody fool. Worse than the poof ever was....I'm baking. BAKING! This is about as low as I can possibly sink. Willow said yesterday that she was craving chocolate cake. Is it my fault that I can't go out during the day to buy her one? No. Damn it, I'm domesticated.)
Willow watched as Spike began to stir the icing harder. He was holding the bowl close to his chest, over the counter. (He must be thinking about Dru.....) She let her eyes wander over his slim figure. He was wearing tight blue jeans and a red shirt. She loved the way the well worn fabric molded his tight ass. She unknowingly sighed.
Spike heard her and cocked his head in her direction. What he saw made him lose his grip on the bowl. It fell to the counter, shattering and spraying chocolate icing all over the counter and himself.
'FUCk!" he yelped. He still remembered the look of love and desire that he had seen in Willow's eyes a few moments before.
Willow started to laugh. He turned toward her scowling. "Think it's funny little girl?"
"Chocolate covered Spike. Guess you can read my mind," she said jokingly, only the look of wistfullness in her eyes betraying the tone.
Spike moved toward her, grabbing her before she could move. "Well, let me know if it meets with your approval" he whispered huskily before claiming her mouth.
She felt like she was drowning. Her body was alive. She moved in closer to him, his hands cupping her ass and pulling her into his arousal. Her mouth moved over his face, licking away the chocolate. His mouth moved across her cheek and down her throat before once again claiming her mouth.
Distantly, they could hear the phone ringing. Both chose to ignore it, not wanting to break away from their embrace. The machine picked it up.
Willow----Its Thack. I think I found Drusilla. Call me. Very urgent.
The words penetrated the fog in her mind.
(NO!.....)
She pulled away and turned from him. "He found Dru....." she said quietly.
Spike watched her turn from him. He had heard the message. He didn't care. Startled, he leaned against the counter. It had suddenly hit him. He didn't want Drusilla back. She had made her choice. He had moved on to something much brighter.
(Bloody hell.....I'm in love with Willow)
