Willow sat at the table, her face red. Beside her on both sides, sat Spike and Drusilla. Thack looked nervously between the two vampires and the redhead. All were looking at him for answers. Answers that he could not provide. He sighed.
"Willow....I don't know. I can't think of any after effects that would affect your uh your cycle. Maybe it is just the stress. It could be just natural."
"Thack, three months. THREE months. Nothing. Not a slight cramp. Not a damn thing. I'm worried. Everything was fine until July. I was always right on schedule. And oh my goddess...I am rather mortified having to talk about this."
"It's ok luv. We're all adults here. We can figure this out." Spike shot the watcher a warning glance. "I'm sure Thack has some big dusty book all full of explanations."
"I might. I'll look."
Willow sighed. She got up. She had to move. She was very worried. She couldn't believe that it had taken her three months to realize something was wrong. She had ignored it. She hadn't mentioned it to Spike, but she had lost her appetite. She still liked to eat, but never really felt hungry anymore. A few other small things had occurred, but she had never thought much about it. Now, she realized she could have been dieing.
In frustration, she hit the table, not noticing the blade. "OH shit." she screamed as the knife pierced her skin.
The others rushed to her. "Willow, are you ok?" Spike asked, rushing to take her throbbing hand in his.
"Hurts." She said, watching the wound. There was no blood. She felt a tingle go through her. "What the..."
The others watched as the wound began to heal. Soon, there was no mark on her hand.
She looked up wide eyed at the others. "What just happened?"
Thack suddenly yelped. "Good Lord. How stupid. I completely forgot." He ran to his bookcase and found a big dusty volume.
"Willow...when you killed Markos, you said he went poof."
"Yes."
"What do you mean poof?" Thack asked, looking for a page.
"He was gone. There was nothing but this white powder."
He looked up, his eyes angry. "You never mentioned it before. White powder? You breathed it in?"
"It was heavy, like a fog." Spike said, remembering.
Dru nodded. "Yes, it was everywhere. It lingered while we all talked. It smelled odd, but not unpleasant."
Thack found the page he was looking for. He looked at the three people in his office. "You ALL breathed it...for a period of time?"
"Must have been an hour, at least." Spike said, wondering what was happening.
"Do you realize what happened?"
"We would if you'd quit the theatrics and tell us." Willow said, irritated with the man.
"Look." he said, turning the book to face them.
They read and looked at each other in shock. No....it wasn't possible....was it?
