Willow looked out the window of the plane. She couldn't believe she was on her way to England. She thought back over all that had happened the last few months.
After Angel had lost his soul, things had started to fall apart. Kendra was dead. Cordelia and Xander were together. Buffy had left. Angel was in hell. Spike and Dru were gone. She had risked her life twice to give Angel his soul back, only to find out that he had been sent to Hell with it. She felt so guilty. Buffy had called her once. ONCE! They had tried to keep up patrols, but they weren't the slayer. She knew Buffy would be back before school started. She had to believe that. Sunnydale needed her. Willow closed her eyes. She had accepted an early admission to Oxford. No one thought she would actually leave. Yet here she was, spending her senior year in England. She almost felt like she was running away.
Shaking her head, she looked at the book that Giles had given her. It contained the emergency number for the council. He had told her to contact them if she saw anything weird. He had been the most supportive of her decision. Xander had acted like she was deserting him. Cordelia didn't care. Oz had gone on tour. Buffy didn't know. Her parents were just glad she was going anywhere. Willow knew that Giles was proud of her. She just wish she felt proud of herself. She was 17 and was about to spend five years in a foreign country. She felt a bit of excitement along with the worry. She hoped that she didn't let Giles down. The seatbelt light flashed. She was almost there. She hoped that England had less vampires and evil nasty things to worry about. She didn't have Buffy around to protect her anymore. Now, she would have to learn how to protect herself.
