Secrets. Surprises, & Eternal Love

A Visitor

It had been a month since the awful confrontation at Giles'. Buffy and Willow had not been able to come to a compromise. Buffy felt that Willow had chosen Spike over her, and resented both of them. Willow still helped out with the slaying, as did Spike.

Xander, amazingly, had taken a liking to the blond vamp. The two would play video games on the weekends during the day. Xander had even adopted a new name for Spike. He was no longer Junior, but Blondie now. Xander often joked with Willow that he was Spike's bodyguard against Buffy when they patrolled.

Willow didn't think her ex-best friend would try to hurt Spike, but you never knew what to expect with Buffy. Willow was thrilled that Buffy was in love. This time it was a guy named Tyler. She had been with him since shortly after her and Willow's fight. After she and Tyler had gotten together, she had been smiling more often. She had even been attempting to be friendly, that last few days.

Willow and Spike were now living together. It had been easier than she thought it would be. She still felt a bit lost when he went out to eat, but she knew she couldn't say anything. He did tell her that he ever killed his victims any more. He just fed and left them. She had been touched that he would change his feeding habits for her. They had settled into a nice comfortable life. They went to the movies, out to eat, she'd even taken him shopping. It was almost normal. The sight of him could still excite her beyond belief. They knew every aspect of each other's lives.

Giles had told her that he thought she and Spike may have been soulmates. She thought that idea very romantic and had to admit that the watched may have had a point. She had even spoken to Dru over the phone several times. The female vampire had somehow sensed when she and Buffy's friendship dissolved and had called immediately. She was still a bit loony, but Nic seemed to be a good influence on her. She had even found a stone that could be used in a permanent soul restoration. She had sent it to Spike with a curse to use for the time that Willow would eventually be vamped. Willow couldn't believe that she had done this. Spike had even been amazed. It had removed a huge weight from both their shoulders. All she had asked in repayment was a visit over the summer. She always asked Willow how her Angel was, and if Spike was being a good boy. She had actually seemed to care.

Willow had received a call from her two evening previously. Dru had told her to be alert. She could sense a change coming. For everyone to make it through this change nicely, she had said that Willow would need to be open and alive. Willow had no idea what she was talking about. Willow was pulled from her thoughts as the doorbell rang.

Smiling, she got up. "Did you forget your key again lover?"

She opened the door and froze.

"Surprise," a voice said silkily. "Invite me in Willow..."

"Angel?" Willow asked in amazement.

The dark haired vampire smiled slowly. "Uh-uh...try again Red."

A feeling of dread ran through her body. "Angelus."

Willow gripped the door tightly. She was about to slam it shut when she noticed laughter in the eyes of the man in front of her. "ANGEL! You rat!"

Angel couldn't control it anymore. He started to laugh. "You should have seen your face Wills. Nice to know Angelus made such a lasting impression on you."

Willow went forward and hit the vampire on the arm.

He grabbed her and pulled her into a tight embrace. "I've missed you Kid."

Willow pulled back and looked into his chocolate eyes. "Me too, old man. Come in. Spike should be here soon."

Angel made a face. "Oh lucky lucky us."

Willow made a face at him and shut the door behind him. "What are you doing in Sunnydale? Buffy never mentioned that you were coming. Of course, she is just now starting to speak to me again so I'm not really surprised. How is LA? How is Cordelia? Isn't this place great?"She noticed Angel looking at her.

"What?"

He started to laugh again. "I knew I needed to come see you. You can always make me laugh." Willow smiled.

She had rarely seen Angel laugh, and never with such abandon. "Are you sure your Angel? Maybe Angelus snuck out."

The smile slid from Angel's face. "Something like that." he muttered.

Willow looked at him expectantly. "Well? What is going on? Why are you?"

Angel went to the couch and sat down. "Maybe we should wait for Spike. I don't know if I should be here with you if he's not here."

"Let me worry about Spike. You---talk."

Angel ran his hand through his thick hair. "Sorry, it's just been a hell of a week. I came to Sunnydale to see Buffy. We spent a few hours talking. It is definitely over between us. You've met Tyler?" Willow nodded.

"Well, she says she is in love with him. I understand. It was never the same between us after she sent me to hell. We are going to try to stay friends." he grimaced slightly. "Like that will work....Anyway, she was so happy that I couldn't give her my problems to deal with. Oh, by the way, she told me she has forgiven you and she hopes that you will forgive her. I think she is going to set up lunch next week."

Willow smiled (Thank God...maybe they could start re-building their friendship)

"What problems are you having Angel? You know you can tell me anything."

Angel looked at the red head. She had grown up while he was gone. She had an aura of confidence about her that she had previously lacked. (Spike must be good for her) She had seemed so sure of herself when she had opened the door. He had felt the urge to play with her in hopes of seeing the awkwardness return...make her seem more like his Willow. It had worked.

"I'm sorry Willow."

"What? About what?"

"About what I said. I know Buffy had to have told you. I just didn't think Spike was being honest. I didn't want you hurt. You are too good a friend. Hell, you're my only friend really."

"Oh, that. Don't worry about it. I understand the issues between you and him. You just gave your opinion. There is no harm in being honest. That's what friends are for. Now, quit avoiding my questions. What is going on? You seem less....broody. And you are actually speaking in more than two sentences. Right now, I'm thinking invasion of the body snatchers."

Angel reached over and pulled her into a hug. "Thank you for the friendship Red."

"What the bloody hell is going on here?? Get your hands off my mate you wanker!"

Willow pulled out of Angel's embrace.

"Spike! Be nice. We have a visitor." She got up and went to him. She gave him a hug and a kiss. "No need to be jealous love" she whispered in his ear.

Spike's cold blue eyes met brown. He sneered at his sire. "Peaches, so lovely to see you. When are you leaving?"

"William, don't tell me you aren't happy to see me?" Spike froze. He pulled Willow close to him. "Angelus..." Angel smiled, "Not quite."

Willow looked at Angel. He no longer seemed as safe as he had a few moments before. Angel noticed her distress. "Spike, sit down. You are worrying Willow."

"Don't tell me what to do." Spike replied, but he had noticed the tension fill his love. He moved her towards the sofa.

Angel turned away, hiding a smile.

"Angel, what's going on?" Willow asked.

"Yeah, Peaches, why the hell are you here?" Angel looked at his childe and had to smile. Spike was poised, ready to defend Willow if need be.

"You have nothing to worry about Spike. I am not going to harm Willow or you. Sit back and let Daddy tell you a story. Maybe you two will be able to make sense out of it. I sure as hell haven't."

Willow eased back into Spike's arms. She was ok. Angel was back to being cuddly again. She shivered as she felt Spike's fingers slowly start to draw patterns on her arm. She felt his teeth nuzzling her neck. Angel watched in amusement as his childe made his claim known. He rolled his eyes and began his story.

**********

Willow stood in her and Spike's room thinking about the events of that evening. Angel had told them his story. It appeared that the week prior, he had helped a powerful witch get away from a demon. In repayment, she had cursed him with a permanent soul. He had lost all of the guilt that had tortured him for so many years, yet he did not feel the hatred of the demon either. He was quite lost. He had become someone he didn't know in the span of seconds. He told them he had felt the need to leave LA. He didn't think he could discover any answers there. As it was, he thought he would be able to stay with Buffy. When he got to Sunnydale, it hadn't gone the way he had envisioned. The reason he had sought out her and Spike was to see if he could stay with them for a few days. Buffy had told him that they had the extra room. He didn't want to go back to LA just yet, and he had friends in Sunnydale.

Willow found herself curious about it all. Spike had remained quiet through the entire conversation. Willow had caught the men looking at each other several times as if they were trying to figure each out. She wondered if this Angel was more like Spike's Angelus that he spoke so fondly of. If he was, she was interested to see if he and Spike might be able to rebuild their previous relationship.

Willow had given permission for Angel to stay. Spike had agreed. He had even gone to take Angel a blanket that Willow had planned to give him. She sighed. (Things should definitely be interesting over the next few days...)

**********

Spike opened the door without knocking. Angel turned and looked at him in surprise. Spike returned the gaze, unwavering. He threw a blanket at Angel. "Just for the record Peaches, I don't want you here. I don't know what your plan is, but I don't trust you. I'll put up with you because you're Willow's friend. She wants me to play nice. But one wrong move, and I'll kill you."

"Nice to know you care William."

Spike stated calmly, "If this is a game, stop it now. I will not have Willow hurt. Oh, and keep your hands to yourself. No more hugs."

"Oh, really? She sure seemed to be enjoying it."

Before he could finish the sentence, Spike had him against the wall. Spike's yellow eyes looked deep into his. "Stay. away. from. Willow. She is mine." Angel looked at his childe.

"Still hate playing with others, Spikey? You used to love sharing with me." Angel felt his demon rise as he remembered their shared past. He reached up and caressed Spike's cheek. "I've missed you lover."

Spike let go and moved back. "Sorry, Dad. I've grown up. I don't need you. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have someone waiting for me. Sleep tight Cuddles."

Angel closed his eyes and leaned against the wall. (Why did I come here?)

**********

Willow walked out of the bathroom the same time that Spike entered the room. She could feel the tension role off of him in waves. (He and Angel must have had a fight...)

He looked up at her, his blue eyes full of desire and passion. (Oh my...) Willow dropped her towel and opened her arms. He ran to her, his mouth finding hers. Willow could feel his erection pushing against his jeans. She pulled away and they both worked together removing his clothes. He tossed her onto the bed. His lips roaming her body. Willow let out a loud moan as his lips found her wetness. Knowing that Angel was in the room next door added an element of excitement to their love making. Willow found herself being more vocal than usual. For some reason, she wanted Angel to hear them. (I'm such a pervert....what happened to me?) Spike brought her to orgasm two times with his mouth and fingers.

"Fuck me! Please....fuck me." She begged. He entered her deeply, pushing her into the bed. She wrapped her legs around his waist. His teeth nipped at her flesh as their rhythm continued. She groaned and pleaded for release. He bit her neck deeper than he had before. Willow felt a bit of pain but it quickly went away. She screamed his name as they came together. He rained small kisses over her face.

Angel came with a loud moan. He had heard every sound from the room next door. Closing his eyes, he had pictured it all. Willow spread out...Spike plunging into her deeply...it had been too much. He felt as though he had been watching. Opening his eyes, he wondered how he could stay with them without letting his feelings be found it.

He had felt such jealousy when Buffy had first told him of their union. Even with a soul, he knew that they were his. The old woman's curse had presented him with a perfect opportunity. There was one detail he had failed to mention. The old woman had told him to be happy and make up for the last 80 years. She had said that he was to find his fire and ice and all would be well. He knew exactly who the woman spoke of. He smiled. Joining his fire and ice was what he planned on doing. Spike had been right about him having a plan. He knew Willow wouldn't turn her back on him. Spike would take time. He was still bitter after Angelus's departure.

Seeing them together, he knew he had done the right thing. He wanted to be part of their lives. He wanted their love. He had no plans to interfere in their relationship. They were perfect together. He just had to convince them both that he should be a part of it. He had given himself two weeks. If, after that, they accepted him only as a friend, he would go back to LA quietly. His sincerity had even convinced Buffy. She was very much in love and could tell Angel was in the same condition. She had admitted that it was a bit weird that he had moved from her to her best friend and she was really queasy about Spike, but she had been surprisingly understanding. She had agreed to assist him if he needed it. She said she owed Willow after the way she had treated her and Spike's relationship. He did not have any plans to jeopardize his relationship with Willow. He hoped that, if he and Spike could not rekindle their love, at least he might gain a friend. It was going to take some effort, but he knew it would be worth it. He was determined to at least try. It seemed as though it were meant to be. He heard Willow cry out Spike's name again. Closing his eyes, he settled down for the day.

His "Fire and Ice"...he drifted off to sleep smiling.
