"So, you plan to deliver at home?"

"Yep. Nic knows a doctor..."

"Wait! You mean to tell me that the vampire slayer is going to allow a vampire to deliver her child?"

Buffy laughed. "What? Mick is a nice guy. He was a doctor for twenty years before he was turned. I trust him."

"I can see the council's faces now." Willow said, laughing.

Dru smiled. "Isn't it amusing? I told Buffy that she should take a picture of the baby after she is born. Make sure that Mick was holding her and then send it to the council."

"That would be good. Oh, write on there, this is my new baby and her doctor or something so they'd know that a vampire had delivered her."

"You guys are awful. Besides, I have no plans to tell the council about Rose. Giles has been able to keep my condition a secret. Especially now that I never even patrol." she whined.

"Like you really miss that. Hell, it was boring the last month or so that you did."

Spike watched the women talking and had to smile. For some reason, since her viewing, Buffy had become less clingy. It was as though she had finally gotten over her feeling for Willow. He was glad. He'd never admit it, but the slayer was growing on him. Not that he'd want her around all the time or anything. But, she wasn't all bad. He could tolerate her now without the having to fight the desire to kill her.

Willow looked at Spike and smiled. She knew that he liked Buffy. She had been able to tell a difference. It was like in the beginning with Xander. His attitude lightened up. He only insulted her every little bit now instead of constantly. She looked at Buffy. Her friend seemed to be much more animated lately. It was as though a huge burden had fallen off her shoulders. She knew that Luc was still courting her friend. She had to chuckle. Who would have thought that the slayer would ever be this close to a bunch of vampires? Oh well, Sunnydale was benefiting greatly. There were even suggestions of Nic running for Mayor. NIC. She had laughed and asked how he would attend the daytime sessions. He had told her that if she didn't watch her mouth, he'd appoint her as his assistant and make her deal with them. She had promptly shut up. The town was thriving. He had brought in new business due to his connections. There were very few unexplained deaths. Those were usually cause by a visiting demon unaware that the town was under protection.

Buffy was due in five weeks. She was doing well. She was eating the right foods, a lot of the right foods. She was very healthy. The doctor had cautioned that she may have an early delivery, seeing as it was her first child and she was very active. Willow wasn't sure why that was very important, but she wasn't a doctor. Because of this, Dru had gone into overprotective mother status and had confined the slayer to the house. She was only allowed to leave with someone accompanying her. Dru didn't want her to go into labor in an alley alone.

"Oh...Oz called me. He is coming home for Christmas."

Spike growled at the mention of her ex-boyfriend. She shushed him.

"That's great. He'll be able to see Rose. How is he?"

"He says they are doing great. He and Devon have made some contacts. They are playing with some guys at some club. He seems to think they may have a chance."

"That's really good for him. Well, MOM, can I go to the movie with Willow, Spike, Angel and Luc or am I grounded?"

Dru smiled. "Since you will be with Willow, I'll allow it tonight. But tomorrow, you must clean your room. Miss Edith told me that Rose will be here early. We must make sure everything is tidy and waiting for her arrival."

They all said good bye and left for the movie. Luc taking Buffy's hand, Angel holding Willow's while Spike's arm was around her shoulders. They spoke and laughed as they walked.

"So, do you have many children?" Willow asked Luc. He and Buffy had come over to watch a movie. The movie had been terrible and now Spike and Buffy were playing the playstation. Willow watched them with smile on her face. Spike was winning.

"None." Luc said. "Nic doesn't allow us to embrace. It is one of his main rules. He has actually killed on of his children because they disobeyed that."

"Really? I guess I'm not surprised. I understand his feelings about that. I was just curious...." Willow turned and faced her new friend. His eyes were on Buffy, a half smile on his face as he watched her lose to Spike again. "What exactly are your intentions with my friend?"

"Well, MOM, I love her." Luc got a frightened look on his face. "I didn't just say that did I?"

Willow beamed. "Uh huh...."

"Damn....don't tell her ok? I don't want to pressure her. Promise?"

"Luc....you make her smile. I'd promise just about anything if that continued. Just know, if you hurt her, I'll rip you open."

"Got it."

"So, slayer....ready to pop that brat out yet?"

"Spike, you always have such an eloquent way of speaking. I see why Willow is so enamored." Buffy said, rolling her eyes.

Spike smiled, "You SAW why Willow is so taken with me. No, quit avoiding the question."

Buffy smiled, her face lighting up. "Yes. I can't wait to hold her. I have such plans for her. She is going to be so loved. Oh Spike....I'm going to be a mother. Me! I never thought I'd be so excited at that idea. I find myself watching children now and wondering what she will look like, what her first word will be....when she'll take her first step...if she'll have Tyler's smile....if I will live long enough to see her graduate...."

Spike took in what the slayer had said. "You'll make it. I can already see the poor chit trying to date. Poor bastard. Having to face you, Dru, Willow and Nic." he heard Buffy laugh. Good, he had gotten her out of her maudlin mood. "Ha. I win again."

"No fair! You distracted me. WILLOW...Spike isn't playing fair!"

"Buffy, don't be a sore loser." Willow said, laughing from the table.

Buffy just glared at her. When she caught Luc's eye, she smiled. "Well, I'll win this round." She promised, eager for a win.

"Yeah...right." Spike said, proceeding to whip her ass yet again.

"Almost time for Christmas break. Good. No school. Are we having a party?"

"Luv....when do we not have a party? I think Dru has been planning it for the last month."

"Oh goodie....I love Dru's parties. They are always so festive and bright."

"You ok?" Angel asked, hearing the false note in Willow's voice.

"Fine. Just a bit tired. I don't ever seem to sleep anymore." She yawned. "I'm thinking of quitting school after this semester."

Spike looked into her eyes for a moment. "Your choice luv. Thought you like learning...."

"I do. Its just a bit pointless. I mean, I go to school all day and then you guys are up all night. Nic wants me to work for him, computer work. Since his impromptu election, he realizes he needs a good computer programmer. Besides, can you imagine the access I would have?"

Spike grumbled. "Would you really rather work for him than go to school?"

"Yes. I'd be able to work my own hours and see you two whenever I want."

"Well, I like that part of the plan." Angel said, smiling. "If it makes you happy, I'm for it."

Spike smiled and kissed her. "Me too pet. Whatever you want. I'm sure Nic would be great to work for."

"Thank you. Good. I'll go to administration after the last class ends next week and see what I need to do."

"Now, can we go back to sleep?" Spike asked.

Willow smiled, "You want to sleep? I had other ideas....."

Spike and Angel exchanged a look. "Sleep? Did I say sleep? Nah...whatever you want to do is cool...."

"Good." Willow said, pulling him in for a kiss.
