An Evening Out
"Do we really have to go?"
"Quit whining. Yes, we have to go. I promised Buffy."
"But Willow...."
"Spike! Angel! We-are-going! Now deal with it."
"Luv, wouldn't you rather the three of us just go enjoy ourselves?"
"SPIKE! I told you. I have hardly seen Buffy since I got back. I haven't seen Xander at all. When I'm not in school, you two have me tied to the bed."
"I haven't heard you complaining...."
"Angel....please don't start. I want this. It will be a nice evening out with friends. No slaying....no research...just fun."
"Like that will ever happen..."
"I want this to be a night to remember, for everyone guys. We deserve it."
"Well, I know I certainly won't forget it anytime soon...."
"Yeah, no matter how bad we want to..."
Willow took a deep breath and counted to ten. "It's almost time to go. Some last minute reminders: Tyler knows that Buffy is the slayer...."
"Yeah, getting attacked by vampires will convince a guy huh?"
"Can't believe the sod stayed with her. She just might set a record with this one."
"AHEM....as I was saying, he knows about Buffy, but he has no idea that either of you two are vampires. Buffy didn't think she could deal with explaining everything just yet. Xander knows about me and Spike, but he has no idea that Angel has..well, joined us. I want to keep him in the dark as long as possible. I don't think he'll handle it all that well. So, Angel, keep your hands to yourself."
Angel narrowed his eyes. "Wouldn't it be easier to just kill the moron?"
Willow shot him a dirty look and continued, "Let's see, no one know that Cordelia is back except for us."
"I still can't believe you invited that silly girl to join us....."
"Actually, Spike, Cordelia isn't all that bad. I worked with her quite a long time in LA and I very rarely felt the urge to kill her."
"Thank you Angel. OK Cordy is meeting us at the restaurant. I'm so glad that Buffy rented out the entire party room. Anyway, it will be a big surprise when she comes in. And Xander has no idea that Cordy wants him back. I don't feel it is my place to speak for her. So, no comments about that little secret. What am I missing?"
"I don't know how you could have forgotten anything. I feel like I'm about to take a fucking test. It will be like a bloody obstacle course."
"Willow, Spike is right. Maybe we should stay here..."
"NO. I am not facing them all alone! I need you both there. Now, let's go or we'll be late."
"This should be a fun filled evening."
Spike rolled his eyes at Angel's droll comment. Neither of the men were excited about Willow's little evening out. Spike slammed the door, locking it behind him. "Fuck..." he muttered.
He saw Willow's eyes light up with mischief, "Later...and only if you are both very good boys."
**********
Buffy and Willow hugged each other and squealed. The men watched in amazement.
"When was the last time you girls saw each other?" Tyler asked.
Buffy smiled at him. "Three days ago!"
"Are they always so ....." Tyler asked the others.
"Annoyingly girly?" Xander asked. At Tyler's nod, he smiled, "Nah...they had a fight awhile back and didn't really speak for a month. Since then, they've been on super bonding mode."
Angel and Spike moved Willow to the table. Xander watched them, smirking.
"Tyler, you've met Angel and Willow. This is Spike." Spike nodded, his eyes cold.
"Oz had a gig, but he said he'd come by afterwards." Buffy told Willow.
"Damn, slayer, how long do you think we plan on being here?" Spike felt Willow's heel on his foot. He jumped at the force in which she pushed down. "Ouch! Bloody hell, it was just a question..."
Tyler sat next Buffy. "So, Spike, is it? Interesting nick name. How'd you get it?"
The blond leaned forward, mischief in his eyes, "Would you like me to show you?"
He felt a hand hit the back of his head. He turned, and growled lowly at his sire.
"Just joking mate. It was a name the ladies gave me. They said I drove so deep into them ...."
"Would anyone like something to drink? The waitress is here" Willow interrupted, shooting a nasty look at her lover.
"Yeah...sure...." Everyone placed orders.
Tyler attempted to make conversation again. "So, Spike, are you in college?"
"Hell no. Too old for that mate."
"Oh? How old are you, exactly?"
"About a hund..." He felt a sharp kick on his leg. Startled he looked at the slayer. She was shaking her head wildly. "24. I'm 24."
Tyler noticed that Angel was looking over the menu, a bored look on his face."And you Angel?"
"Huh? What?"
"How old are you?"
"Well, what year is it? I'll have to think.." he felt Willow's hand squeeze his thigh the same time he felt the kick from under the table. (What? Oh....I almost forgot) "26. I'm 26."
"How did you and Spike become friends with Buffy and the others? I mean, you two definitely weren't in high school with them."
Spike leaned into Willow, whispering in her ear, "Please...just a nibble. Just enough to shut him up? I'm hungry...."
She looked at him and tried to hold down a smile. (Poor Tyler...he was trying hard to get the others talking. Buffy must have threated him before this started. At least her man listened to her.) She decided that she might have to kill Spike and Angel if they ever made it through this evening.
Xander was sitting back in his chair holding onto the table and waiting for some food. He was hungry. He also couldn't wait for the opportunity to let Willow know that he knew her dirty little secret. It was bad enough one deadboy, but two? The thought made him grimace. He leaned his head back and saw the door open. Surprised at seeing who it was, he let go of the table sending himself and the chair flying backwards.
"Why, Xander, what a surprise. I really hadn't expected you to just fall at my feet so quickly."
"Cordelia?" Buffy and Xander said at the same time.
Cordelia smiled at the stunned looks on their faces. "In the flesh." She saw an attractive guy with brown hair sitting next to Buffy. "You must be Tyler."
Tyler nodded at the attractive girl. "Yes. And you are Cordy?"
"Cordelia Chase at your service. Well, Buff, I can't believe you haven't run this one off yet. You must be going for a record." She looked at Tyler, smiling, "Buffy has never been able to keep a man for very long. She claims its because she is the slayer, but puh-leez. Have you seen how she dresses lately? And that hair? Ugh. You are a brave man. I mean, the last guy she was serious about, she sent to hell for like 100 years."
At Tyler's confused look, the others laughed. "Cordy, you are such a kidder. Why don't you sit down!" Willow said to her new friend.
"What-ever. To think I actually missed this place. You people are still so weird." She took a seat beside Angel, across from Xander.
Tyler found himself being kissed by Buffy. "Don't listen to Cordelia. She likes to think she is still the most popular girl in school, so above us it isn't funny. Underneath it all, she isn't that bad." Buffy whispered in his ear. Tyler just nodded.
Xander set his chair back up and sat down, staring at Cordelia. He was surprised how glad he was to see her. She noticed him looking and smiled a serene smile.
"So, Willow. Buffy told me that you share a house with both Spike and Angel. Which one exactly is your boyfriend?"
Willow felt herself blushing. She started to stutter....Spike and Angel started smirking at her. Everyone watched her, waiting for her answer.
Buffy watched, hiding a smile. Finally, taking pity on her friend, she told Tyler, "They are all just very good friends. You know, like the three musketeers."
Xander muttered, "Yeah, the three musketeers that fuck." Both Cordy and Buffy heard him and kicked him sharply under the table.
"Hey...what was that for?" he whined.
"Shut up tact boy..." Cordelia said through clenched teeth.
Spike suddenly stood up. "I'll be right back. I'm getting hung...thirsty. I need a bit to drink. I'm going for a bloody mary. Anything for you ducks?" He asked Willow.
"Nothing for me thanks. Wait, Spike....it better not be a real one!" She pulled him down to her. "The waitresses name was Mary...keep your teeth to yourself!" she whispered in his ear.
He smiled at her and winked. "Love you too Red."
After the drinks arrived, conversation began to flow more readily. As the food was eaten, it was decided that the group would meet back up at Willow's house. Oz had called telling them that he would be unable to make it. He and Devon were going out after the show. The bill was paid. Everyone piled into cars and headed to Willow's house.
"Why the hell did you ask them over?"
"I didn't want the evening to end. It has been so much fun. And did you see the sparks between Cordelia and Xander? I knew there was still something there. Besides, we have all night. They won't be over forever. It will be fun. I promise."
Angel smiled. "Willow...."
"Yes?"
"Can we play a game?" he asked eagerly.
Willow looked at him for a moment. "What were you thinking?"
"Well, I've heard truth or dare is very eye opening. There are several secrets flying around..."
Willow had to laugh. She hadn't played that game since Jesse was alive. She always got stuck with awful dares.
"That might be fun...We'll have to see what the others say though."
"As that silly girl says, What-ever." Spike mumbled to himself.
**********
"This is a great house." Tyler said, looking around. "How long have you lived here?"
"About two weeks." Willow replied. "It was a present."
"Nice present..." Tyler muttered.
Willow smiled and went to join the others in the living room. Xander was staring at Cordelia, Cordelia was ignoring Xander, Buffy was enjoying her night off, Tyler wouldn't stop trying to talk to everyone, and Angel and Spike looked ready to murder everyone. (Time for some action....)
Willow whistled loudly. Five pairs of eyes looked at the petite redhead. "Now that I've got your attention, would anyone like something to drink?" Nods and murmurs. "Spike, get them their drinks. Angel, why don't you help him."
The vampires stood quickly, relieved to have an excuse to leave the room.
Buffy watched their retreat and had to laugh. "Geez, Wills, I don't think they're having fun." Tyler moved beside her on the couch.
"Now, Buffy. They probably think we are a bunch of kids. How much fun would you have with a bunch of twelve year olds?" Tyler asked his girlfriend. "The age thing has to be a killer."
"You don't know the half of it..."Cordy said.
The men came back with drinks and snacks. Willow smiled at how domestic they seemed.
"So, Angel...Spike. Buffy told me you two go back a long ways. When did you two meet?" Tyler asked.
Spike leaned into Willow. "Did the damn slayer tell him to ask all these bloody questions? I am fast losing my patience with the welp."
Angel smiled at the boy. "I ran into Spike in London. We hit it off, became friends, and the rest is history."
"ANCIENT history," Xander put in, receiving glares from everyone except the oblivious Tyler.
"Hey....does anyone want to play a game?" Buffy asked, before her boyfriend could ask another question. She was even growing irritated with him. "It seems stupid to just sit around. Do you have any games Wills?"
Willow looked at Angel and smiled. "Not really, Buffy. But there are seven of us here. I'm sure if we tried, we could come up with something."
"Like what?"
"In this house? I'd vote for hide and seek." Xander said, taking a handful of chips.
"Maybe tag?" Buffy offered grimacing slightly.
Cordy looked at her redhead friend and noticed her eyes locked with Angel's. She had to smile. She knew exactly what they were thinking about playing. Hell, she'd been the one to explain the high points of the game to Angel after he had heard it mentioned in a movie. The poor sheltered vampire had never taken part in it before. She had refused to play with him, explaining that you had to have several people for it to be fun. She also told him it was even better if the people had been keeping secrets or had things to hide. He must have remembered. She winked at Willow, when she caught her eye.
"Why don't we play truth or dare?" she asked innocently.
"Truth or dare?" several voices questioned.
"I like it. Can I go first?" Tyler asked the room.
Everyone nodded. He thought for a moment. "Angel."
Angel looked at the boy surprised that he was the first one questioned. "Yes?"
"Truth or dare?"
"Truth."
Tyler sat back on the couch, his arm settling on his girlfriend's shoulders. An interested look crossed his face.
"What were the circumstances behind your becoming a vampire?" Six pairs of eyes looked at Tyler in shock. He heard a gasp come from Buffy. He looked at her and smiled, "What? Did you think I wouldn't notice his lack of breathing? I've been with you enough lately to tell a vampire pretty quickly. I made him and Spike when they entered the room tonight. I kept asking leading questions, but you just couldn't tell me. I don't know the story behind them, but I trust you. If you have no problems with them, I don't either. I'm just curious about them. I mean, geesh," he looked around the room, "did you all think I was stupid or something?"
A period of stunned silence followed Tyler's speech. Finally, Spike started to laugh. Soon, everyone else joined in.
"Slayer, I think you should keep this one."
Buffy looked at Tyler and said, "You're amazing". She then pulled him to her in a searing kiss. He pulled away looking a bit dazed.
"Umm...yeah...Angel, I think I asked you a question?"
Angel smiled. "I got drunk, met a beautiful blonde, she bit me and I was turned." The others looked at him. "Is that all? That's all we get? Oh boy, just wait....we'll get you." Xander said, rubbing his hands together.
Willow rolled her eyes. "Angel, it's your turn."
"Oh..." he smiled "Cordelia..."
"Truth."
"But, I didn't even ask the question! That's no fair," he whined.
"Angel...."
"Fine. Miss C, tell us the REAL reason you came back to Sunnydale."
Xander leaned forward, intrigued by the blush that spread over the former cheerleader's face.
"I hated LA. So, I came back."
Angel looked at the group. "What do we do if we know their not being truthful?"
"Well, we play it that they either tell the truth, the FULL truth, or they have to do the dare." Buffy said, a smile forming on her lips.
Angel looked back at Cordelia. "Think about it Cor....a dare? or the truth?"
Cordelia took a deep breath, "IreallyreallymissedyouguysandafterleavingIrealizedthatIstillmightbeinlovewithXander." She said in rush. "Buffy....Truth or dare?"
Xander sat back in amazement. Had Cordelia just said that she might be in love with him? The night was looking much brighter.
"Dare." The slayer replied recklessly.
"Hmm....I dare you to....."
Cordelia paused, thinking. "OK. I dare you to kiss Xander."
Xander looked at Buffy, "No way!" They both said together.
Cordelia looked at her ex-boyfriend, "What? She was always your fantasy. Now, kiss her."
Buffy went over and kissed Xander's cheek. "There" she said smiling. "My turn." She looked around the room. "Willow."
"Oh drat....um....truth? No...no....dare. Yes, dare." Willow replied.
"OK..I dare you to..."
"NO...make it truth."
"Would you just make up your bloody mind all ready, luv?"
"Truth Buffy."
Buffy looked at her friend. "I have so many things I want to ask, but one thing keeps coming to mind." she smiled slightly, "It has actually worried me a bit. Just how close are you and Drusilla now?"
Willow was surprised at the intense expression on her friend's face. "Well, we are friends, sort of. She calls me weekly. She is very nice, once you get past the craziness. I really like her, as weird as that sounds. I'm even planning to go see her over the summer."
"So, you think she may be your best friend eventually...after me?"
Willow's eyes widened. "Buffy....you'll always be my best friend. Have you been worried about this?" She got up and pulled her friend into a hug. "Drusilla is just a friend. You are a part of me. Don't ever worry about being replaced. OK?"
The slayer smiled. "I promise."
Willow sat back down. "Geesh...Oh, my turn." She looked at Xander. "Xander, truth or dare?"
"Dare."
"I dare you to tell Cordelia what you told me New Years Eve this year."
Xander looked at his friend. "You don't mean..."
Willow smiled innocently. "Yes, that."
"Wills, you are dead.." Xander promised.
"OK....I'll let you take her into the closet so you can speak privately. After all, you two have such a good history with closets."
The two teens got up and walked into the closet. Spike leaned into his lover and whispered, "Truly evil, Red....I love it."
During Xander and Cordelia's absence, more drinks were gotten as was more snack food. Willow got some blankets out for everyone. The house could get rather cold at night. She didn't want anyone to catch a cold. Finally, the two teens left the closet. They re-entered the room looking flustered. Cordelia's hair was slightly mussed.
Willow smiled, "See, I told you. The closet does wonders for your relationship."
Xander sat down, pulling Cordy beside him. He looked at Willow's smirk. "Spike. Truth or dare."
Spike looked at the boy, his eyes narrowing. He didn't much like his smile. "Truth."
"Are you trying to turn Willow into Drusilla?" Xander asked seriously.
"What? Willow is nothing like Dru, boy."
"Not now. But Dru was not always some crazy nut either."
Spike growled. "What the hell are you really asking whelp?"
"Hell, I know about you and Angel and Willow. As Tyler said, how stupid do you think I am? I don't care. Don't tell me about it, and I'm cool as long as Wills is happy. I just want to make sure you two aren't playing some sick game with her like you both did with Dru."
Spike ran a hand through his hair. "I had nothing to do with Dru until AFTER Angelus got through with her. I love Willow. I don't want her to be some raving lunatic that I always have to look after. Does that answer your bloody question?"
"Yes. I had to know. No offense and all. I mean, don't bite me. Please?"
Spike grimaced, "I wouldn't think about it."
"Spike," he looked into Willow's green eyes, "it's your turn."
His eyes located Tyler, "So, Slayer's whipped pup...I guess that leaves you to me. Truth or dare chap?"
"Truth." Tyler replied, not sure he would like any dare the blond vampire could come up with.
"What do you think about our little gang here?"
Tyler smiled. "You take some getting used to, but I can feel the love and friendship underneath all the sarcasm and zingers. I like it. It feels like a family. My turn...."
"Xander, truth or dare?"
"Me again? Geez, truth this time."
"Was Cordelia your first?"
Xander felt a blush spreading over his face. "No...she and I have never...we uh...NO. She wasn't." A thought suddenly struck him. He looked at Willow nestled between her two vampire lovers. "Wills, you know what?"
"What?"
"We are truly weird people."
"Huh?"
"Do you realize that the only people I've had sex with were a psycho slayer and a demon? And here you are shacking up with not one but TWO members of the living dead. Don't you think that a bit weird?" He and Willow shared a private smile.
Suddenly, he felt a punch on his arm.
"I know about that skanky ho Faith, but who the fuck is this demon bitch?"
"Cordelia, it isn't your turn. Just hush." He told her (And if I am lucky, it will not be your turn for the rest of the evening.). "Buffy, Truth or dare..."
"Truth"
"Are you jealous that Willow has Angel?"
The slayer thought about it. "No. She's happy, he's happy, I'm happy. I have Tyler. Angel and I would never work out. We were able to realize that and move on, keeping our friendship. My turn." She looked at Willow and smiled evilly. "Willow...truth or dare?"
"Goddess, Buffy can't you pick someone else? Truth."
Buffy leaned forward eagerly. "Well, since it is no longer a big secret....I am dieing to know....what is it like with BOTH Spike and Angel?"
Cordelia leaned forward to listen to her friend's answer. Even Tyler and Xander looked a bit curious. Willow felt a blush begin, as Angel and Spike hid their own curiosity.
"Buffy....I can't believe you asked me this."
"Sorry...I want to know."
"OK...It's a bit hard to describe." She closed her eyes, thinking. "This is going to sound stupid, but I can't think of anything else. It's sort of like when you go to an amusement park.."
"Amusement park?" Xander said.
"Shut up and let me talk! Like I was saying, an amusement park. Spike is definitely a roller coaster. Fast, a bit rough, slow build up and then wham! non stop action....every time he touches me, it is that feeling like when you are right at the top of a hill and are about to just speed down...I always feel butterflies in my tummy. Angel is like a fun house. I never know exactly what to expect. It is like walking through a dark corridor and not knowing exactly what is behind each door. I know it entirely up to me which door I choose. I feel more in control, but there is always that lack of control in the back of my mind. It can be slow and sweet or it can be fast and rough. Is it never exactly the same one time to the next. And well, them together is utterly breath taking."
Spike pulled Willow close to him, kissing her. Angel took her hand in his, and slowly began to rub circles on her flesh.
Buffy and Cordelia both sat back and sighed. "Wow. So, its like a roller coaster going through a fun house." Buffy clarified.
"Yeah..." Willow whispered softly.
Xander looked at Tyler, "I somehow don't think I'll be heading to Disneyland anytime soon."
Willow smiled. "My turn. My Angel....truth or dare?"
Angel smiled at his lover. "Dare..." he whispered, looking into her eyes.
She thought a moment. She remembered Buffy and Cordelia's curiosity. "I dare you to kiss Spike for two minutes."
"Oh God...I think I need to go get something else to eat." Xander groaned, jumping to his feet. Tyler quickly joined him.
Buffy and Cordelia watched, wide eyed.
Angel moved in front of Willow, reaching for Spike. Willow leaned back, letting him perform his dare. His tongue slowly licked an outline around his childe's lips. He heard Spike growl. Their tongues met, battling for dominance. Out of habit, Spike pulled away and claimed Willow's mouth, as Angel's mouth went to her neck. Angel's hand gently caressed her breasts through her shirt. She moaned into Spike's mouth. She felt Angel placing small bites along her throat. She felt cool air touching her legs as Spike's hand journeyed up under her skirt. Her hand reached down and grabbed at his erection through his jeans. In the back of her mind, she heard a loud gasp, reminding her of their audience. She pulled herself away from Spike, ignoring his warning growl. She briefly kissed Angel, and rearranged her clothes. She looked up into her friends' astonished stares.
"Sorry.." she said weakly. "We...I sort of got lost in the moment, a bit carried away."
Buffy had felt herself growing aroused while watching her friends. She stood abruptly, and called out, "Tyler. Let's go. It's getting late and I still need to do a patrol."
Cordelia pulled herself back together enough to ask Xander for a ride home. They both had a lot of serious talking to do. After what she had just witnessed, she knew they'd have to find a closet.
The teens said their goodbyes and left. Willow looked at her men.
"That went well."
"Better than I thought, luv. But, really, a roller coaster? It isn't always that fast and rough." Spike whined to her.
Angel rolled his eyes. "It was fun Willow. I'm glad they left though. Now, what was that you promised if we were good boys? I think we were very good boys."
"You're right mate. I didn't even kill the moron, no matter how tempting the idea. You owe us luv."
Spike's eyes met Angel's as they turned to her. They slowly started moving toward her, as if she were prey they were stalking. Shrieking, she ran up the stairs. Smiling, they followed.
