Can't Stay Away

You've Always been close to me
Even when we disagreed
I got that weakness for you
Doesn't matter what you do
Spike was having difficulty accepting what Angelus had said. He knew of his sire's love of games and was worried that this one just the next round. He knew Willow was buying it. She was too soft. She still possessed much of her innocence and belief that people were really good. He knew better. Angelus had left him once before. He had been so happy when he had lost his soul. He had believed that they could pick up where they left off. That had been a joke. Angelus was only around for revenge against the slayer. He had been cruel and delighted in torturing Spike. Spike was disgusted with himself because, despite his behaviour, he had still loved him.
I wanted to stay away
I tried to stay away
I wanted to stay away
But I can't stay away from you
I don't know if I want to...
Spike stared at the ceiling. Willow was beside him sleeping. He had agreed to let Angel stay. He thought he might have made the wrong decision, but he could refuse Willow nothing. He had to admit that Angel had seemed more like His Angelus than he had two years before. There was none of the hatred or mockery in his eyes. Spike had almost believed they held love and desire. He wanted to believe they held love.
Even when I'm on my knees
You're still hard to please
And if I left you behind
Only be a matter of time
Spike had seen the way his sire had stared at Willow. He had felt proud that she was his. Willow had told him she had caught Angel watching him several times too. She understood his past and knew it was difficult for him. The comment Angel had made about their past had hit close to home. He had often, in his dreams, wondered what it would be like with his Willow and Angelus. He and Angelus had always had such fun. Their bond had only started breaking after Drusilla and not completely until the gypsy curse. Angelus had left him alone with Dru. He could not forgive the desertion. He also knew that it would take all of his strength to refuse Angelus. He pulled Willow closer, enjoying her warmth. He loved her so much it amazed him. That she reciprocated his love was more astounding. If it came down to a choice, she had his heart. He closed his eyes and tried to forget the man sleeping in the room next door.
I tried but I can't forget you
You carved your name on me
I tried since the day I met you
To keep my sanity
And I don't know what to do
I can't stay away from you
