"So then you have to sprinkle this powder on him. After that you say these words and poof, he's gone." Willow finished smiling at Giles.
Buffy had to cover her smile as she watched Spike watch Willow. He was trying to be very nonchalant about it. She had been watching him around her best friend for a month. He always watched Willow. Buffy had noticed his attention and been keeping her eye on him. She had to laugh to herself. Who would think that Spike, a.k.a. William the Bloody, would one day not only help a slayer, but get a crush on said slayer's best friend. Buffy scowled at Willow. Said slayer's oblivious best friend.
Since Oz had left last November, Willow had not dated anyone. She seemed to completely lose interest in men. The only ones she spoke to were Riley, Giles, Xander and Spike. Since Giles was too old, and Riley and Xander were taken, that only left Spike. Buffy wondered if she would go to hell for setting her friend up with a demon like Spike. She doubted it.
Since he had been altered, he had actually become an important member of their team. He was very cunning and enjoyed fighting. He was better than she was at fighting. She would never admit that, but she knew it was true. He was also a major hottie. She had checked him out several times. She remembered kissing him during Willow's spell. It hadn't been as bad as she liked to act. No, he was perfect for Wills. She just had to think of a way to get either her friend to open her eyes and realize that the perfect man for her was sitting right beside her or get him to finally make a damn move. He sure was pathetic when it came to making his feelings known. She had thought back over it and realized that he had always been fascinated with Willow. Had he made a move? No. That would be easy. That would save her from having to actually think of some way to get them together. He couldn't make it easy on her.
"Hey Wills" Buffy interrupted Willow's talk with Giles.
"Yes?" She asked, her eyes wide and questioning.
"Want to go out with us tonight? Bronze. Party. party.party." Buffy said smiling.
"I don't think so" Willow said, shuddering at the idea of being around her sickeningly happy friends all night. "I'd sort of be the fifth wheel."
Buffy nodded then smiled. "Well, Spike can go. That will make it all even."
Spike glared at the slayer. He couldn't go with them. He might do something stupid, like tell Red what he felt about her. (Stupid damn idiot,126 and crushing on some teenager. Bloody hell. Peaches would laugh his ass off...)
"I'm sure that Spike has plans. It's Friday night."
Spike opened his mouth to agree but heard himself saying, "No pet. It's ok. I'd enjoy a night out. That is, if you're game?"
Willow smiled softly. "Sure. Why not?"
Buffy sat back and smiled. That hadn't been so hard. Just a few carefully chosen words and they were already dating. This would be a piece of cake.

"This is loud" Willow said.
"What?" Spike said. He'd heard her, but was hoping she'd lean over closer to him. She smelled like apples.
"This is loud."
"Yes it is pet."
"Walk me home?"
"Gladly"
Willow told Buffy she was leaving and joined Spike by the door. They walked into the night air, chatting about several topics.
"I now remember why I quit going those places" Willow said, laughing.
"I thought it was because of the wolf."
"Oz?" Willow said, surprised that Spike knew about him. That had been over before he had joined their little group. "No. I've been over that since Christmas. Realized that he wasn't worth wasting my life over. I deserve better."
"That you do pet."
"I am perfectly happy alone."
"So, you aren't looking for Mr Right?" he asked softly.
"Nope." Willow declared.
"What if you ran into him? How would you know?"
She stopped and sat down, enjoying their conversation. "You're asking what I want in a man?"
"I guess you could say that. Call me curious as to how the female mind works."
She laughed, "Well, he has to be smart, sexy, sensitive, handsome, funny, honest, assertive, ambitious, faithful, he has to wear washed out jeans that have seen better days...has to look good in a towel, has to call me baby, but only when we're alone....oh, a motorcycle would be nice....he has to love me as much as I love him, if not more....overall, he has to be scrumdillyumptious." "Is that all?" Spike asked smiling. "I know...too high expectations. I would settle for faithful, sexy and smart. Of course, looking good in a towel is important too..." she smiled slightly. "No, the expectations aren't high. You deserve your ideal." he said softly, watching her face in the moonlight. "Maybe one day you'll find him."
Willow saw his face as he stood. She wondered what that look in his eyes meant. She stood up and followed him.
"Maybe I already have..." she whispered to herself.
Her eyes on his leather coat as he stopped and smiled, waiting for her to catch up to him.

"So, where did you and Spike run off to last night?"
"The noise was annoying me. I couldn't think. Anyway, he walked back to the dorm."
"Is that it?" Buffy asked disappointed.
Willow rolled her eyes. "No. We also made wild passionate love on the bench in the common. Yes that was it."
"Wild passionate love with Spike huh?" Buffy said trying to test her friend's reaction.
Willow knew she was blushing. "It was a lie, Buffy."
"Still. The thought must have crossed your mind for it to come out so quickly. Bench huh? Never figured you for an exhibitionist."
"Buffy! Good grief. Ok. I admit to having some less than nice thoughts about Spike. All right, down right naughty lustful thoughts. Who wouldn't? Those eyes, those cheekbones, that voice, that ass...have you seen his ass? those lips, his hands....god, I've have had dreams about those hands...."
"Whoa girl. I take it that is a yes." Buffy said. "Dreams huh? Tell."
"Go away" Willow mumbled. "Let me dwell in my fantasy without rude comments."
"Hey, if I wasn't otherwise involved and hadn't already been there and done that with the whole vampire as a lover thing I'd go for him. Of course, his sarcasm and attitude annoy me to hell, but for you he's perfect."
"Thanks" Willow said rolling her eyes. "Just drop it."
Buffy smiled as Willow began to read. Not too hard at all...

Willow opened the door to Giles' apartment. She walked inside and saw the TV playing. A familiar blond head was watching. She moved quietly, her eyes on the commercial. It was one of those cute Hallmark card ads. This one had a little boy talking to his teacher. She smiled softly as it ended.
"That was sweet" she said softly. Spike turned, startled. He had been so engrossed in the tele that he hadn't heard her come in.
Willow saw the tear on his face and smiled. "You cried....at the commercial?"
Spike rubbed his face and glared at her. "No. I just got something in my eye."
"Oh..." She sat down. "I love those ads. Especially around Christmas. They always make me sad, but happy. The one with the man whose daughter sent him the card....he goes on top of the mountain to watch the sunrise every Christmas morning. I always get teary eyed."
"What about the one with the old woman and the dinner?" he asked softly.
"Oh...I like that one too. Or what about the one with the little boy and his mother? So sweet."
"You'll forget what you saw, won't you?"
Willow smiled. "Wouldn't do for the bad ass vampire to be seen crying over a commercial would it?"
"Not really. Unless it was particularly gruesome and a lot of blood was shown. Then, there could be tears of joy."
"Yuck."
"What can I say? I'm a demon pet."
"Already forgotten." she said softly.
"The watcher isn't home."
"Really? Buffy asked me to come by. She said that Giles needed me for research."
"He's gone for the night. Went to visit his harlot."
Willow cringed. "I hate to say it, but Giles and sex just makes me rather ill."
"He's like a father to you kids. No one wants to think of their parent having sex. Fact of life."
"Really?" Willow asked smiling. He nodded and looked at her, amusement in his eyes. "They said so on Oprah. Has to be true."
"Definitely." Willow nodded sagely.
"Does that mean your evening is free?" he asked carefully.
"Guess so" Willow said, hoping.
"Want to catch a movie? Heard there is a new comedy that is supposed to be funny."
"I could use some laughs" Willow said smiling.
"So could I" Spike said, standing. He offered her his arm. "Your chariot awaits Miss Willow."
"Chariot?"
He smiled. "Didn't know I had a motorcycle did ya luv?"
"No."
He shrugged. "Got it when I lived here before. Had it in storage. Follow me."
Willow watched him walk ahead of her. Her eyes on his stonewashed jeans. When did he stop wearing all black? She looked up, not wanting to get caught ogling his cute ass. Was this a date?
* * * * *
Willow watched Spike curiously. They had gone to a movie then driven up to the top of some hills that were ten miles outside Sunnydale. She could see the stars and the moon was bright. He had gone to stand in some bushes and she couldn't see what he was doing.
"Spike...you ok?"
"Yes luv" he said.
"Whatcha doing?"
"Willow. Hush."
She paused. He'd used her name. She liked the way he said it. She smiled and moved closer. Her curiosity getting the better of her. She tried to be quiet...
"Pet, stop now." He said warningly.
"What are you doing?"
She heard the soft sounds of water dripping onto dry leaves. She then heard a zipper. Her eyes grew wide as he turned around. He wouldn't look at her. He was embarrassed, she realized.
"Spike...did you just..."
"Yeah pet."
"I thought vampires didn't go to the bathroom." she said surprised.
"Well, we don't talk about things like that" he grumbled as he moved to sit on a rock. He glanced up and saw the curious look in her eyes. Sighing, he said, "We don't usually pet. I had too much soda at the movie. Blood doesn't cause the same reaction. It would have gone away eventually, but um...well..."
"What?"
"You rode behind me on the cycle. The feel of you...well, damn it Willow. I want you. It took my control not to get a fucking hard on. I couldn't really concentrate on getting that other instinct to go away."
"You want me so you had to pee?" she said softly, strangely touched by his admission.
"Don't tell the bloody slayer"
"Spike...." she said softly.
"What?" he said harshly, having experienced more humiliation in the last ten minutes that he had in his whole undead life.
"I want you too...."
"You want me?" Spike repeated, his eyes wide.
"Yes" Willow said.
"Are you sure?"
"Spike! Just kiss me."
Spike smiled and took her into his arms. His lips moving against hers. She melted against him, her hands roaming his lean body.
He moved her to the motorcycle, balancing her on it as he deepened the kiss. He had imagined this moment more times that he wanted to admit in the last few months.
* * * * *
Buffy looked up and smiled as Willow came inside. Her lips were swollen, her hair mussed.
"Fun night?"
"The best. I made out like I was a teenager in the fifty's." Willow said. "He made it second base."
"Willow! I'm shocked at you" Buffy said laughing. "Spike?"
"Uh huh.." Willow said nodding as she began to remove her coat.
"That good?"
Willow leaned forward, her voice whispering. She smiled, "I made him pee!"
Buffy looked at her and shook her head. Willow had gone over the deep end.
* * * * *
"I think I'm going to throw up."
"Anya, hush. It's sweet."
"Is not. It's so cute it's revolting."
"It is rather annoying isn't it?"
"He gave her flowers that smelled like her shampoo. It is sickening that he knows what her shampoo smells like. Xander probably doesn't know that I even use shampoo."
"You're right. So cute it's sick. They are too happy. We should go kick their shins."
"You're laughing at me."
"No, Anya, I'm laughing with you. I agree. Willow and Spike do not deserve to be so happy. You hold him and I'll stake him."
"I never said they didn't deserve it. She is a good kid. He makes her smile. I just wish Xander was half as sweet. I mean, he a damn vampire. Evil, cold blooded killer. He knows what her friggin shampoo smells like."
"You're a bit obsessed with the shampoo thing aren't you?"
"That obvious?"
"Not to a casual observer. You're playing it off well."
"I wonder if he's fucked her yet."
"Anya!"
"You can't tell me that you haven't wondered the same thing. He is still a vampire, even if he is sickeningly sweet. I don't see any bites or bruises. Wonder if Willow likes it rough....Where are you going? Come on, Buffy. I was joking. Please talk to me. I won't talk about sex. Promise."
"No sex talk about Spike and Willow?"
"Nope" Anya grinned, "So what exactly is happening between you and Riley?"
* * * * *
"Where do we go from here?" Willow asked nervously.
"I don't know pet. Never really imagined it getting this far. Where do you want it to go?"
"I don't know. I don't love you." Willow said softly, "I could...but I don't know you that well yet."
Spike smiled. "I understand. The only woman I've loved was Dru. We see how that worked out. I care for you."
"Really?" Willow asked, her eyes wide.
"Yes. Wasn't it obvious tonight?"
She blushed, "Well...I didn't know if caring had anything to with that..."
"It did. I could never have experienced such intensity if I didn't have feelings for you."
"Me either. It was nice right?"
Spike chuckled, "Beyond nice. Try breathtaking. If I had breath that is."
"You're awful" Willow groaned, hitting him with her pillow.
"That's not what you were saying all night."
"Spike!"
"Willow!" he said smiling.
"Just shut up."
Spike leaned over and caught her lips. "Need something to occupy my mouth pet."
"The sacrifices I have to make" she smiled.
He pulled the cover over them, and moved inside her.
She could definitely come to love him, she decided.
